Music

At Yealand Church of England Primary School, we understand that music helps to shape emotions, memory and experience. Through music, we can celebrate diversity, appreciate the work of others and simply enjoy the art form for pleasure.

Through our music provision we hope to enrich the lives of our children by giving them a personal songbook of nursery rhymes, traditional songs and songs which they will enjoy throughout their lives. Our intention is for all children at Yealand Church of England Primary School to develop musical skills which will impact positively on their wider experiences as they move through their learning journeys.

By providing opportunities across the curriculum, our children will be introduced to an eclectic range of high-quality recordings, live music and opportunities to explore a range of instruments which will help them to develop confidence in performing, composing and exploring music for themselves from the exploring the smallest sound to the mightiest orchestral music.

It is our intent to discover talented individuals and to provide them with opportunities which will develop a passion for music for life.
