‘Let all that you do be done in love,’ 1 Corinthians 16:14

Being a part of the Worship Team is an important role within school.

Children, who are chosen to lead worship, model our school values in practice to others in and out of school.

Each worship starts with our Worship Team. They set the tone of the worship by reminding us of the expectations and values of our school and leading us in prayer.

In school we have 11 values: Friendship, Peace, Hope, Forgiveness, Creativity, Trust, Justice, Courage, Generosity, Wisdom, Gentleness. These are explicitly taught and celebrated over a two-year cycle.

They are underpinned with our 2 core values Love and Joy which are celebrated daily through our ‘Let all that you do be done in love,’ strapline and sharing of daily joy in worship time.

Through worship we can explore beliefs and traditions; be curious and ask BIG questions about life and all it has to offer, and reflect on God’s awe and wonder within our natural world.

In our busy lives it is a time where we can be still and enjoy coming together as a school family instilling a sense of community and belonging.

We love to sing, dance, act our stories from the Bible, listen to inspiring work from our Values Champions and celebrate and share all our achievements with each other.

We love to visit St. John’s Church to learn about Christianity and how it is lived out in daily practise. We hold important celebrations within church. We love welcoming our new starters in September and presenting our Year 3 children with the Bibles, so that they can be taught how to use them in class before they are presented to us in our Year 6 Leaver’s service.

We welcome visits from Church parishioners to our worship, while there is no vicar in post.

Worship is an important part of each day at Yealand.
