Curriculum

At Yealand, we have a curriculum which reflects the interests of our children. Through consultation with them, we have linked all the National Curriculum expectations to our learning. We teach through themes to inspire their thinking and to deepen their understanding of learning concepts.

Our curriculum evolves with events in our community, the world and with individual children. What does not change is our commitment to providing our children with a wealth of lifelong learning skills which will lead them to knowledge and support them beyond life at our school.

We believe that an enriched curriculum is fundamental to our children’s learning and development. Trips, visitors and essential learning experiences are embedded within our curriculum to ensure that learning is not restricted to the classroom but is real and relevant for our children.
